Senate Joint Memorial 77 requests the Legislature declare February 1, “Literacy Day at the Legislature”.
Significant
Issues
The New Mexico coalition for literacy has existed for fifteen years. During that time approximately eighteen thousand volunteer tutors have received training from the New Mexico coalition for literacy and those tutors have provided approximately one million two hundred thousand hours of instruction. In addition, approximately forty-five thousand adult students have been served by volunteer literacy programs statewide.
