SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Joint Memorial

American Cancer Society, Prostate Cancer Support Association of New Mexico,
health care practitioners and others to develop a plan to implement a program
of education, awareness and support groups concerning the issue of prostate
cancer in New Mexico. The task force
would present its plan and recommendations to the appropriate legislative
committee by October 2002.
Significant
Issues

Mexico, over 1,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, and almost 200 die
of the disease. Prostate cancer is the
most frequently diagnosed cancer in men and the second leading cause of cancer
