Labor Department
SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Bill 365
appropriates $100.0 from the general fund to the Labor Department to fund a job
training program for the physically and mentally challenged at Eastern New
Mexico University at Roswell.
Significant
Issues
The department indicates that the bill would
allow those with physical or mental challenges in the Southeast region of the
state to participate in job training in their local area. The program would train individuals toward
independence and sustainability, allowing them to participate in the workforce.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
