SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Bill 303
extends by one year the deadline by which the PRC must revise its rules to
reflect changes after the merger of the former State Corporation and Public
Utility Commissions.
Significant
Issues
The agency has not initiated an effort to review
its rules. The PRC requested more than $300.0 in general fund in its FY03
budget request to meet this deadline. The General Appropriations Act currently
appropriates $867.4 in the contracts category for FY03.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Enactment of SB 303
will not have an additional fiscal impact than that already planned for by the
agency.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
SB 303 will lessen the
administrative impact because it will provide additional time to meet the
statutory deadline.
