SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Bill 181
appropriates $73.1 from the general fund to the Fourth Judicial District
Attorney to pay for a Senior Trial Attorney.
Significant
Issues
As part of its FY03 budget request, the Fourth
Judicial Attorney requested $73.1 from the general fund and the authorization
for one Senior Trial Prosecutor position; however, neither the LFC nor the
executive recommended funding this position.
SB 181 would increase the number of permanent positions in the Fourth
Judicial District Attorney’s office from 30.5 in FY02 to 31.5 by adding one
Senior Trial Attorney.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of
$73.1 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
remaining at the end of FY03 shall revert to the general fund.
