SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Bill 86
appropriates $2 million from the general fund to DOH for the purpose of
providing services for all eligible persons, up to the maximum number
permitted, under New Mexico’s Medicaid disabled and elderly waiver (D&E)
program.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of
$2 million contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY03 shall
revert to the general fund.
HB2 currently contains
$6.7 million within the HSD budget for the D&E waiver.
The bill appropriates the funds to DOH, but the
D&E Medicaid waiver is currently administered by HSD.
