SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
House Joint Memorial
99 requests the Legislative Council to include an examination of the effect of
requests for duplicate legislation in a study of the legislative committee
system.
Significant
Issues
Senate Joint Memorial 64, passed during the 2001
regular session requested the Legislative Council to study the committee
structure in New Mexico. That study is
currently being conduced by staff of the National Conference of State
Legislators.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
There is no
appropriation contained in the bill for the study. Presumably, the cost of the study would be paid from the
appropriation contained in Subsection B of Section 3 of House Bill 1 (Feed
Bill) already enacted this session for legislative interim expenses.
