SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

House Joint Memorial 7 requests the State Highway and Transportation Department (SHTD) construct a noise barrier along the south side of Interstate 40 (I-40) between Louisiana Boulevard and Pennsylvania Street in Albuquerque.

Significant Issues

Construction of a noise barrier at this location is part of a project identified in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program plan for FY06 to reconstruct the Louisiana Boulevard interchange on I-40.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The department estimates the cost of constructing this noise barrier is $2 million. This will be part of the interchange reconstruction cost when the department initiates the project.
