SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
House Bill 259 appropriates $50.0 from the
general fund to Santa Fe Community College for the purpose of funding Santa Fe
Public School activities during the mariachi educational training conference.
Significant
Issues
According to SDE, this type of music education
is currently not available to students within the Santa Fe Public Schools. This funding would provide opportunities for
higher education to work together with the public schools to promote learning
through music.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $50.0 contained in this
bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered
balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003shall revert to the general
fund.
