SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
House Bill 79 appropriates $300.0 in FY02 and FY03 from the general fund to DOH for the purpose of educating low-income families on traditional family health care techniques, nutrition, home first aid and how to obtain necessary health care services.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $300.0 contained in this
bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered
balance remaining at the end of FY03 shall revert to the general fund.
HB2 currently contains funding for maternal and child health services including the promotora program.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
DOH indicates the bill does not define
“traditional.”
