SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 407

STATE OF NEW MEXICO

45TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2002

REQUESTED BY Carroll H. Leavell

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN JAL IN LEA COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the state agency on aging

forty-five thousand dollars ($45,000) to purchase a handicapped-accessible van for the senior citizens unit in Jal in Lea county;

• to the department of environment

four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) to reconstruct a main water transmission line from the well field to the distribution system in Jal in Lea county;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to drill and equip a water well in Jal in Lea county; and

fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000) for equipment to maintain water and sewer utility lines in Jal in Lea county; and

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

forty thousand dollars ($40,000) to purchase a pickup truck for the police department in Jal in Lea county;

ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to purchase firearms for the police department in Jal in Lea county;

six thousand dollars ($6,000) to construct and purchase firing range equipment for the police department in Jal in Lea county;

five thousand six hundred dollars ($5,600) for a patrol unit camera system for the police department in Jal in Lea county;

ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to upgrade the jail in Jal in Lea county; and

sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) to remove dangerous buildings and debris in Jal in Lea county.
