SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST

 

STATE OF NEW MEXICO

45TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2002

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS STATEWIDE

 

 

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

 

to the department of environment

 

ten million dollars ($10,000,000) to plan, design, construct and equip a wastewater treatment facility in Elephant Butte and Elephant Butte state park in Sierra county;

 

• to the energy, minerals and natural resources department

 

twenty-three million dollars ($23,000,000) to purchase Eagle Nest lake and make repairs at the dam at the lake in Colfax county;

 

• to the office of cultural affairs

 

eleven million dollars ($11,000,000) to plan, design, construct, equip and furnish a new annex to the palace of the governors in Santa Fe in Santa Fe county;

 

to the office of the state engineer

 

twenty-four million dollars ($24,000,000) to purchase water rights to meet the state's obligation under the Pecos River Compact; and

 

• to the state parks division of the energy, minerals and natural resources department

 

two million dollars ($2,000,000) for the Black Jack Pershing museum at Pancho Villa state park in Columbus in Luna county.
