AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INVESTIGATE THE CHANGE IN RECHARGE TO THE PECOS RIVER DUE TO CHANGE IN CLIMATE AND WATERSHED CONDITIONS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to conduct a study and an analysis of watershed conditions affecting the recharge to the Roswell/Artesia ground water basin and the Pecos river flow. This appropriation will be matched equally by the Pecos valley artesian conservancy district. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
