MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A SURVEY OF THE ELK POPULATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) is appropriated from the game protection fund to the department of game and fish for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to survey the state's elk population. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the game protection fund.
