MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE FOURTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO CONTINUE THE OPERATION OF THE PRISON PROSECUTION UNIT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thirty-nine thousand two hundred dollars ($539,200) is appropriated from the general fund to the fourth judicial district attorney for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to continue the operation of the prison prosecution unit, which is prosecuting cases that arose from the 1999 riot at the Guadalupe county correctional facility. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
