MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO STRENGTHEN GRADUATE EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS THROUGH THE EXPANSION OF ACADEMIC RESEARCH.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to strengthen graduate education and community programs through the expansion of academic research. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
