MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND NATIVE AMERICAN SPIRITUAL ADVISERS IN STATE-FUNDED CORRECTIONS FACILITIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the corrections department for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to fund two full-time Native American spiritual advisers to serve all of the state-funded adult corrections facilities, including those operated pursuant to a contract with the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
