MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SAMPLE BALLOT MAILINGS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred ten thousand dollars ($310,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the secretary of state for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to mail a sample ballot of the 2002 general election to every registered voter in Bernalillo county. The mailing shall occur no later than twenty days prior to the general election. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
