MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT TO REIMBURSE RIO ARRIBA COUNTY FOR THE EXPENSE OF EXTRADITING, TRANSPORTING AND FEEDING STATE INMATES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the corrections department for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to reimburse Rio Arriba county for the expense of extraditing, transporting and feeding state inmates, as authorized in Sections 4-44-18 and 4-44-20 NMSA 1978. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
