MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SALARY INCREASES FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred nineteen million two hundred thousand dollars ($119,200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to provide an eight percent salary increase for all public school employees, including certified, noncertified and transportation employees. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
