MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND A NATIVE AMERICAN SPIRITUAL ADVISER IN STATE-FUNDED JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to fund a full-time Native American spiritual adviser to serve all of the state-funded juvenile detention facilities in which Native American youth are detained. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
