MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NEW MEXICO ALLIANCE FOR UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS AND THE REGIONAL ALLIANCE FOR SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to increase participation in the New Mexico alliance for underrepresented students and the regional alliance for science, mathematics, engineering and technology for students with disabilities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
