MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION TO DEVELOP A COMMUNITY ARTS AND CULTURAL EDUCATION PROGRAM IN CERTAIN ALBUQUERQUE NEIGHBORHOODS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to develop a community arts and cultural education program for families who live in the Barelas, Martineztown, San Jose, Sawmill and Downtown neighborhoods of Albuquerque. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
