RELATING TO THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; DESIGNATING CERTAIN USES FOR CASH BALANCES OF THE NEW MEXICO OFFICE OF INDIAN AFFAIRS; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) of cash balances of the New Mexico office of Indian affairs is appropriated to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal years 2002 and 2003 in the following amounts for the following purposes:
(1) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to develop a strategic plan that coordinates long-term care needs for social and medical services for Native Americans and senior citizens in the state;
(2) seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to encourage Native American attendance at the state agency on aging's Glorieta conference; and
(3) seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to provide materials and training for the eight northern Indian pueblos council arts and crafts training program.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
