AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENCOURAGE TOURISM BY PROMOTING HIGH-PROFILE NATIVE AMERICAN EVENTS IN NEW MEXICO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the tourism department for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to encourage tourism by implementing a promotional campaign emphasizing the following high-profile Native American events: the intertribal ceremonial, the gathering of nations, the Indian national finals rodeo and the Indian market. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
