MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING TRAINING TO LOCAL OFFICIALS ON THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE OPEN MEETINGS ACT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION--OPEN MEETINGS ACT REQUIREMENTS.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the attorney general for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 for the purpose of providing training to officials of local governments, including school districts, on the requirements of the Open Meetings Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
