THANKING AND CONGRATULATING TELEFUTURA FORTY-EIGHT AND ENTRAVISION COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE TO THE CITIZENS OF NEW MEXICO.

WHEREAS, telefutura forty-eight in Albuquerque is the newest Spanish language television station; and

WHEREAS, the station promotes and preserves the Spanish language and enriches Hispanic culture in Albuquerque; and

WHEREAS, it recognizes that the state's Hispanic population is growing; and

WHEREAS, Entravision Communications owns and operates the television station and has committed to expanding telefutura forty-eight coverage to the rest of New Mexico's Hispanic and bilingual homes; and

WHEREAS, New Mexico's viewers will have a greater opportunity to watch entertainment and news in Spanish; and

WHEREAS, New Mexico celebrates diversity and opportunity for all of its citizens;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that telefutura forty-eight be thanked and congratulated for its service to the citizens of New Mexico; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to telefutura forty-eight and Entravision Communications.
