MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to finance transportation expenses for students transferred to other public schools due to loss of federal support for public schools on probationary status. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
