CONGRATULATING THE CLIFF HIGH SCHOOL COWGIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR COMPLETING A PERFECT SEASON BY WINNING THE CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Cliff high school cowgirls basketball team captured the class A state championship by defeating the Elida lady tigers fifty to forty-five at the New Mexico state university Pan American center in Las Cruces; and
WHEREAS, the Cliff high school cowgirls had a perfect season of twenty-nine victories and no losses; and
WHEREAS, this is the second year in a row the Cliff high school cowgirls basketball team has won the class A title, with a two-year, fifty-six and two record; and
WHEREAS, the cowgirls were led by seniors Jessica Luera, Heather Schock, Renee Roberts and Nicole Unruh-Enos and teammates Marlys Allsup, Mareda Shurts and Shalako Means; and
WHEREAS, the cowgirls have been coached for two years by head coach Clay Means;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the Cliff high school cowgirls basketball team be congratulated on winning its second straight class A championship as the cap to a perfect winning season and for compiling an excellent two-year, fifty-six and two record; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this certificate be transmitted to each member of the Cliff high school cowgirl class A championship basketball team and to each of its coaches.
