A MEMORIAL

REQUESTING THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY TO RENAME THE JOHN M. KELLY PETROLEUM BUILDING THE JOHN M. AND ESTHER KELLY PETROLEUM BUILDING.



WHEREAS, John M. Kelly was a strong and generous supporter of the petroleum recovery research center that is located on the campus of the New Mexico institute of mining and technology; and

WHEREAS, John M. Kelly was recognized and memorialized when his name was given to a building located on the New Mexico institute of mining and technology campus; and

WHEREAS, John M. Kelly's wife, Esther, similarly was a strong and generous supporter of the petroleum recovery research center; and

WHEREAS, it would be right and proper to recognize both of these individuals for their support of the petroleum recovery research center at the New Mexico institute of mining and technology;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the board of regents of the New Mexico institute of mining and technology be requested to rename the John M. Kelly petroleum building the John M. and Esther Kelly petroleum building; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the members of the board of regents of the New Mexico institute of mining and technology.
