DECLARING THE SUPPORT OF THE NEW MEXICO HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEW MEXICO VIRTUAL COLLEGE.

WHEREAS, the goal of the New Mexico virtual college is to organize and facilitate collaboration and resources between New Mexico's higher learning institutions in the delivery of distance learning; and

WHEREAS, the New Mexico virtual college will enable New Mexicans to improve their quality of life by facilitating access to training, education and student services anytime, anyplace; and

WHEREAS, this vision can be accomplished by using current and emerging learning technologies to facilitate access to high-quality, affordable student-centered learning opportunities for all New Mexicans through the collaboration and cooperation among member institutions;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that it supports the development of the New Mexico virtual college.
