REQUESTING UNIFORM USAGE OF THE LEGAL NAME "TOWN OF CEBOLLETA", CEBOLLETA LAND GRANT, CIBOLA COUNTY, NEW MEXICO.

WHEREAS, the founding name for the community of Cebolleta was "Town of Cebolleta"; and

WHEREAS, all the local documents are under "Town of Cebolleta"; and

WHEREAS, the general accounting office in Washington, D.C. has the community registered as "Town of Cebolleta"; and

WHEREAS, several years ago, the United States postal service changed the name to Seboyeta as a matter of convenience; and

WHEREAS, the use of a second name has caused much confusion with official state documents and requests;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that all references to Seboyeta be officially changed to "Town of Cebolleta"; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the state auditor for distribution to all government agencies.
