SUMMARY
Synopsis of Memorial
Senate Memorial 2 resolves support for efforts of working people in New Mexico to unionize; it requests employers to provide employees the opportunity to choose whether to unionize free from coercion and intimidation; to communicate neutrality regarding the choice; and to abide by the employees' choice. Finally, it resolves that copies of the memorial be provided to the governor, the labor department, the economic development department and the legislature.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The memorial has no direct fiscal impact on state revenues.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The memorial communicates a desire for voluntary action by employers to support the right of employees to unionize. It does not request any governmental action. Thus, there should not be any administrative implications for the state.
