SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 754 repeals a statute that prohibits NMIMT from constructing classroom facilities at any place in the state of New Mexico other than at the city of Socorro.
Significant Issues
NMIMT was recently awarded a $5 million annual contract to operate and manage the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) program for the U.S. State Department which is to be located in Roswell, New Mexico.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Federal funds will be used to construct and operate the ILEA facility in Roswell.
