SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
SB 340 appropriates $1,491.5 from the general fund to the Department of Finance and Administration for metropolitan court judges' and magistrates' salary increases.
Significant Issues
This appropriation will increase salaries to make it easier to attract and retain individuals. Full-time magistrate salaries will increase from 75 percent to 95 percent of a metropolitan court judge salary. Metropolitan court judge salaries would increase from 90 percent to 95 percent of a district court judge salary.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $1,491.5 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
