Synopsis of House Floor Amendment No. 1
The bill adjusts the appropriations for the House Chief Clerk in the personal services, employee benefits and contractual services categories for a total decrease of $49,241 from $890,011 to $840,770.
Synopsis of Bill as Amended by the House Appropriations and Finance Committee
House Bill 1 appropriates $18,433.3 from the general fund to various legislative agencies for the purpose of funding operations of the 2001 regular legislative session and funding for interim activities, including fiscal year 2002 operating budgets of the Legislative Council Service, Legislative Finance Committee, Legislative Education Study Committee, and the House and Senate chief clerk offices. Other appropriations include legislative interim expenses, session preparation, statewide legislative internship program, expenses of the Senate Rules Committee and reapportionment.
The House Appropriations and Finance Committee amendments were technical in nature and corrected amounts on: (1) page 2, line 8 (from "$3421,720" to $342,720"); (2) page 9, line 25 (from "315,952" to "146,752"); and (3) page 10, line 4 (from "$1,143,898" to "$974,698").
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The bill appropriates $6.8 million in FY01 recurring, $682.0 in FY01 non-recurring and $10.9 million in FY02 recurring expenditures for the operation of the Legislature as follows:
