Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 571 appropriates $400,000 from the general fund to the Human Services Department for the purpose of contracting with a statewide food bank program to gather, pack, transport, distribute and prepare unsaleable and surplus fresh produce to feed hungry and homeless New Mexicans.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $400.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of Fiscal Year 2002 shall revert to the General Fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
None known. The appropriation is to the Human Services Department. The department has not responded to a request for a bill analysis. The request was made on 2-6-2001.
