SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 184

STATE OF NEW MEXICO

45TH LEGISLATURE - FIRST SESSION - 2001

REQUESTED BY

FOR SENATE DISTRICT 42 CAPITAL PROJECTS IN CURRY COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

to the state highway and transportation department

one million five hundred twenty-six thousand five hundred sixty dollars ($1,526,560) to surface and improve East Seventh street, including widening and installing curbs, gutters, streetlights and upgrading the traffic signals between Norris street and Humphrey road in Clovis in Curry county;

four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for improvements to various county roads in Curry county; and

three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) for improvements to county road 3 in Curry county;

to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to construct, equip and furnish a new city hall facility, including compliance with uniform building codes and the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, in Texico in Curry county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to purchase and equip a pumper tanker for the volunteer fire department in Texico in Curry county;

three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for renovation of an existing county building to provide additional county office space in Clovis in Curry county;

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to design, construct, furnish and equip a multipurpose building and make other related improvements to the county fairgrounds in Clovis in Curry county; and

three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to expand the juvenile detention center in Clovis in Curry county; and

to the state department of public education

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to renovate locker rooms, to comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and to plan and design a learning center for the Texico municipal school district in Curry county.
