REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN ROOSEVELT COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

to the state highway and transportation department

thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) for an access road off highway 70 and Eighteenth street to the Roosevelt county general hospital in Roosevelt county;

three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) to chip seal north Roosevelt county road 3;

four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) for road repairs, maintenance and improvements in Roosevelt county; and

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to replace curbs and gutters from south avenue O and west Eighteenth street to the city limits in Portales in Roosevelt county;

to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for the mainstreet program to purchase, refurbish and equip the historic Yam theater and community center in Portales in Roosevelt county;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase a pumper and tanker truck for the fire department in Causey in Roosevelt county;

one hundred eighty-five thousand dollars ($185,000) to acquire the property for, design, renovate, equip and furnish the Roosevelt county business development center;

forty-six thousand dollars ($46,000) to purchase an ambulance for Arch in Roosevelt county;

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for curbs, gutters, pedestrian lighting and sidewalk improvements for the Portales mainstreet project in Roosevelt county;

twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to construct a communications tower in southern Roosevelt county for enhanced public safety;

thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) to purchase and install radio equipment for the Roosevelt county sheriff's office;

two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for improvements to facilities at the Roosevelt county fairgrounds;

fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to construct an addition to the extension office in Roosevelt county; and

five hundred forty thousand dollars ($540,000) to remodel the county courthouse facilities and replace the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in Roosevelt county;

to the state department of public education

seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to continue improvements to the Portales high school performing arts center in the Portales municipal school district in Roosevelt county; and

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for a community activity center in the Portales municipal school district in Roosevelt county; and

to the office of the state engineer

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to purchase land and water rights to increase the water production capacity of the city of Portales and protect the aquifer in Portales in Roosevelt county;
