MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR A JOINT PROJECT WITH SPAIN.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the university of New Mexico's center for regional studies for travel and production costs to enter into a joint project with the country of Spain to produce a television program about the significant Spanish presence and influence in the history of the United States of America. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
