MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES FUNDS TO HELP PREVENT TEEN PREGNANCIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the temporary assistance for needy families block grant to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to contract to provide programming statewide for assistance to communities to prevent teen pregnancies. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the human services department and retain the character of temporary assistance for needy families block grant funds.
