AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION TO ASSIST SCHOOLS THAT ARE RATED PROBATIONARY PURSUANT TO THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION ACCREDITATION MATRIX.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred million dollars ($100,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to assist schools that are rated probationary pursuant to the state board of education accreditation matrix. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
