SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number __1____ to SENATE BILL 341

1. On page 1, line 11, strike "PROVIDING" and insert in lieu thereof "PHASING IN".

2. On page 1, line 15, strike "AN ADDITIONAL INCREMENT" and insert in lieu thereof "ADDITIONAL INCREMENTS".

3. On page 1, line 23, after "The" insert "following percentage of".

4. On page 2, line 2, strike the period and closing quotation mark and insert in lieu thereof a colon, and between lines 2 and 3, insert the following new subsections:

"A. for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003, fifty percent of receipts; and

B. after June 30, 2003, one hundred percent of receipts."".

5. On page 2, line 7, before the semicolon insert "as follows".

6. On page 2, line 10, strike the period and closing quotation mark and insert in lieu thereof a colon, and between lines 10 and 11, insert the following new subsections:

"A. prior to July 1, 2002, fifty percent of receipts;

B. for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003, seventy-five percent of receipts; and

C. after June 30, 2003, one hundred percent of receipts."".

7. On page 2, lines 17 and 18, remove the brackets and line-through and on line 18, after "medical" insert a comma.

8. On page 2, line 24, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof "as follows:", and between lines 24 and 25, insert the following new paragraphs:

"(1) prior to July 1, 2002, only as provided in Subsection A of this section;

(2) for the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003, fifty percent of receipts remaining after the deduction in Subsection A of this section has been taken; and

(3) after June 30, 2003, one hundred percent of receipts remaining after the deduction in Subsection A of this section has been taken.".

9. On page 3, line 20, remove the brackets and line-through and strike "three-eighths".

10. On page 3, line 21, strike "and" and insert in lieu thereof "prior to July 1, 2002, shall not exceed nine-sixteenths of one percent of gross receipts during the period from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003 and shall not exceed three-eighths of one percent of gross receipts after June 30, 2003. The tax".

11. On page 7, line 12, before "The" insert the subsection designation "A.".

12. On page 7, line 13, after "of" insert "Sections 2 through 4 of".

13. On page 7, between lines 13 and 14, insert the following new subsections:

"B. The effective date of the provisions of Section 1 this act is July 1, 2002.

C. The effective date of the provisions of Section 5 of this act is July 1, 2003.".
