AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO MARKET NEW MEXICO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS AND ESTABLISH A CONSUMER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to conduct trade and retail assistance programs and consumer awareness campaigns; to develop a promotional logo and e-commerce for rural agricultural manufacturers, processors and growers and the New Mexico country store project; to promote marketing and development of New Mexico-grown agricultural products; and to promote rural economic development. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
