MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE RED RIVER CHARTER SCHOOL; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the charter schools stimulus fund for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 and 2002 to provide start-up funding for the Red River charter school. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
