MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION FOR A YOUTH ART EDUCATION PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to fund an intensive, eighteen-month art education program, focusing on at-risk youth between the ages of thirteen and twenty-five years old. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
