MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS FOR MUSICAL THEATER PUBLIC PRODUCTIONS, COMMUNITY SERVICE PERFORMANCES, THEATER-RELATED EXHIBITS AND THEATER WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to fund the operations of musical theater organizations providing public performances, community service performances, theater-related exhibits and theater workshops and classes in the state. Only not-for-profit musical theater organizations providing all of these services are eligible to receive these funds. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
