MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CERTAIN MORA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL AND PRISONER HOUSING COSTS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. One hundred thirty thousand dollars ($130,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 2001 and 2002 for certain costs of the sheriff's department in Mora county in the following amounts for the following purposes:
(1) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for housing of prisoners;
(2) fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) to pay for overtime for sheriff's department personnel; and
(3) fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) for training of sheriff's department personnel.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
