MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CONSERVATION OF NEW MEXICO PUBLIC ART CREATED DURING THE DEPRESSION ERA AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION ABOUT THIS UNIQUE NATIONAL ART TREASURE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Seven hundred twenty-five thousand one hundred dollars ($725,100) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal years 2002 and 2003 in the following amounts for the following purposes:
(1) six hundred five thousand one hundred dollars ($605,100) to restore and conserve depression-era public works of art statewide;
(2) twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) to plan, produce and distribute a video documentary, in cooperation with the university of New Mexico public television station, about the depression-era public art in New Mexico; and
(3) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to contract for services and expenses to administer the projects established under Paragraphs (1) and (2) of this subsection.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
