Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 251

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 4, lines 19 and 20, strike ", to determine if the child has been abused or neglected".

2. On page 6, line 1, after "liability" insert "only".

3. On page 6, line 2, strike the period, and insert in lieu thereof "but not for any subsequent negligent medical care or treatment of the newborn.".

4. On page 7, line 15, after "parent" insert ", guardian or custodian".

5. On page 7, line 17, after "parent" insert ", guardian or custodian".

6. On page 7, line 18, after "child" insert "; provided that a parent may be prosecuted for abuse of a child for actions of the parent that occurred before the parent left the newborn at the hospital.".
